ANNIVERSARY EDITION REMASTER

Heron is a 3rd person, open world action adventure game with horror elements. The story is inspired by classical mythology; it warns of the dangers of hubris, while highlighting traits of courage, determination, and resilience.

The Anniversary Edition features updated art and new page layouts, as well as expanded story descriptions.

The visual identity of Heron’s artbook is inspired by Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris, as the story of Heron is structured as a five-act play, and the court of Othello, the ruling body in the story, is also heavily influenced by French nobility.

This project continued to hone my illustration, concept art, and storytelling skills.

SYNOPSIS

Heron is a 3rd person, open world action adventure game with horror elements. The story is inspired by classical mythology; it warns of the dangers of hubris, while highlighting traits of courage, determination, and resilience. The story follows Hera, a fallen warrior goddess who works alongside impoverished villagers to bring down her father’s sky fortress and end his contrived religion. The collapse of this fortress leads to a catastrophic fallout that all but ends their society.
