OCEANUM
ONE FISH - ONE WEEK
Oceanum is a bi-weekly subscription service that delivers locally caught fish to customers. The fish comes with recipe cards that utilize the entirety of the fish over the course of one week of meals.
The visual language of Oceanum is inspired by vintage fishing material and seafloor light refractions. Each box has a unique design aspect in reference to the product it houses, as well as custom label tape.

A LONG AWAITED REIMAGINING
Oceanum began simply as a poster and recipe card design. As time passed, I decided to remaster those designs, and noticed the potential to expand the project to wholistically reflect the brand’s values.
FLYER
SALMON BOX
The salmon box is the box the fish arrives in. The background of the box is a refracted frost pattern inspired by the crushed ice the fish rest on in local markets. Inside the box is the Oceanum newspaper. Newspaper has been historically used to wrap fish due to its absorbent qualities.

CAVIAR BOX
When applicable, the roe from the fish comes in the Caviar Box. The pattern of the box is inspired by the shimmering orbs of caviar. The color of the box changes to reflect the color of the roe.
GLASS CAVIAR - INSPIRED BY SALMON ROE
BUTCHER BOX
Each first order comes with the Butcher Box, which contains a set of tools to help de-bone and break down the fish. The Butcher Box can be purchased separately at any time. The background pattern is inspired by light refractions on the sea floor.

RECIPE CARD
Each delivery comes with a set of five recipe cards made to use the entirety of the fish over the course of one week. The filet sections of the fish makes two servings, reducing the amount of cards needed. The design of the card is inspired by vintage fish cans.
LABEL TAPE
Each box has a custom version of the universal label tape. The label features the hero color of the box it is intended for.
ONE FISH - ONE WEEK
Oceanum is one of my favorite works, and the most productive project I’ve worked on this year. I honed many skills over the course of this project, and uncovered many design resources that elevated my design skills exponentially.
